Waddesdon Manor Reopens its Grounds with Help from See Tickets

Waddesdon Manor Reopens its Grounds with Help from See Tickets

See Tickets is now official partner to the National Trust’s Waddesdon Manor, selling advance entry tickets to its grounds which reopened on 3 June.

Waddesdon Manor was looking for a ticketing partner to support its social distancing measures which include limiting on-site capacity and removing walk-up sales. Visitors can now purchase advance entry grounds tickets by choosing from hourly time slots at the venue’s new ticketing site here

Matthew Hulme, Head of Visitor Operations at Waddesdon Manor said: “If we didn’t have the ability to cap visitor numbers to our grounds, we simply would not have been able to reopen. See Tickets has enabled us to welcome back visitors in a way which meets social distancing requirements and we’re pleased to say that initial sales have been very strong.”

Rob Wilmshurst, CEO at See Tickets said: “Social distancing means a new approach to ticketing and increasing numbers of venues and attractions are looking at how they use time slots, capacity limits and advance online sales to allow them to reopen. We are here to equip clients with all they need to move forward during this challenging time.”

See Tickets has created white label ticket sites with time slot entry for the Houses of Parliament, Christmas at Kew and FriendsFest. See Tickets is also ticketing partner to Glastonbury Festival, SJM Concerts, Ideal Home Show and Society of London Theatre.

An update for West End ticket holders - 08.06.2020

UPDATE MONDAY 8th JUNE 2020

London’s West End looks forward to welcoming audiences back into theatres as soon as performances can safely resume. See Tickets and the other agencies have been working with the Society of London Theatres to agree and share the below information.

To give customers clarity and help operationally, performances have been cancelled across the West End on a rolling month by month basis since the start of lockdown (with refunds occurring as funds are received back from the theatres, in line with the latest advice from the Government and the Society of London Theatres.

Every show is now extending cancellations until Sunday 2 August with some extending the cancelled performances beyond this date. There is nothing that you need to do, if your performance has been cancelled, you will receive an email from us regarding the cancellation and a refund for the tickets you booked with us at See Tickets. As you can imagine, we have an unprecedented number of ticket orders which we are processing in strict date order of performance. We ask for your patience and understanding as the current circumstances means that it is impossible to process all tickets within our usual 14 days.

This does not mean theatres will reopen on 3 August; and further cancellations will continue to be announced on a rolling basis. The decision to reopen theatres will be made based on government and scientific advice on gatherings and events. Different theatres and productions are likely to reopen at different times.

SOLT Chief Executive Julian Bird said: ''We are grateful to customers for the continued patience and kindness they are showing during this challenging time for our industry. With 300,000 people visiting West End theatres in a normal week, it remains a major undertaking to process refunds, exchanges and credit notes, particularly when many staff are working remotely. Please rest assured that we are all working as quickly as we can, and we appreciate the continued support and understanding of our audiences.''

See Tickets to Roll Out Contactless Access Control

See Tickets to Roll Out Contactless Access Control

See Tickets has developed contactless access control technology to provide event organisers with the safest possible way to manage entry.

The tool uses a standalone scanning point which requires no contact from staff or customers and triggers instant and clear results. Event staff can then view these results from a safe distance, meaning secure event entry remains uncompromised.

The new functionality will be based on See Tickets’ tried and tested on-site technology and is fully integrated into its back-office systems, tools, and reporting capabilities.

Rob Wilmshurst, Global CEO at See Tickets said: “Like our clients, See are adapting to the challenges in the market and looking at safe ways to operate going forward. We’re already well equipped to build features like time-slot entry to limit event capacity and our ‘zero contact’ access control solution will complement this.”

Smaller venues and promoters will also be able to benefit from the new technology with an upgrade to the See Tickets Access Control App. This will give them the ability to increase the range from which their device can scan tickets, when used safely with a stand.

See Tickets works with a wide range of clients across music, consumer exhibition, lifestyle, theatre and sport sectors. Clients include SJM Concerts, Glastonbury Festival, Houses of Parliament, Society of London Theatre, Raymond Gubbay and Media 10.

Any interested event organisers should contact workwithus@seetickets.com

An update for West End ticket holders - 06.05.2020

Statement from the Society of London Theatre (SOLT)

London’s West End looks forward to welcoming audiences back into theatres as soon as performances can safely resume.

To give our customers some clarity, we have been cancelling performances across the West End on a rolling basis, in line with the latest advice from the Government.

We are now extending those cancellations until Sunday 28 June.

This does not mean theatres will reopen on 29 June; if further cancellations are necessary they will continue to be announced on a rolling basis. Different theatres and productions are likely to reopen at different times.

We are so sorry that in these testing and difficult times you are not able to enjoy the show you have booked for and hope the following helps clarify next steps in respect of your tickets.

Ticketholders for affected performances do not need to do anything. They will be contacted by the organisation from which they bought their tickets to arrange a refund, credit note or exchange for a later date.

We are grateful to customers for the patience they are showing during this challenging time for our industry. With 300,000 people visiting West End theatres in a normal week, it’s a major undertaking to process refunds, exchanges and credit notes, particularly when many staff are working remotely. Please rest assured that we are all working as quickly as we can and we appreciate the on-going support of our audiences.

An update for West End ticket holders - 06.04.2020

The following statement has been issued today (Monday April 6th) by the Society of London Theatre (SOLT) on behalf of the major commercial West End theatre operators and the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers (STAR), to provide clear information for customers with regards to their theatre bookings and help ease the unprecedented strain on box offices and ticket agents in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are now cancelling all performances up until and including 31 May 2020 to help us process existing bookings whilst we wait for further clarity from the government in terms of when we will be able to reopen.

We are so sorry that in these testing and difficult times you are not able to enjoy the show you have booked for and hope the following helps clarify next steps in respect of your tickets.

There is nothing that you need to do if your performance has been cancelled, but we do ask for your patience.

If you have booked directly with the theatre or show website for an affected performance, please be assured that they will contact you directly to arrange an exchange for a later date, a credit note/voucher or a refund. If you have booked via a ticket agent they will also be in contact with you directly.

Theatre box office and ticket agents teams are continuing to work through the very high number of ticket orders affected by the cancellations. An average of 300,000 people a week attend West End theatres, so this a huge task. The situation is exacerbated by the fact that all our teams are now working remotely in response to government restrictions, many with reduced numbers of staff due to the virus, and this will be adding to the time it will take us to process your order.

We are processing in strict date order of performance, so you are likely to be contacted after the date you were due to go to the theatre. However, we want to reassure you that you will be contacted, and your order will be processed, but please do bear with us.

We’d like to thank everyone who has been patient and kind in dealing with their ticket providers so far and we are sorry that we cannot process your order as quickly as we would like.

Please do not contact your credit card company as that will slow the process down and put an additional burden on our box office and ticket agent teams.

In order for us to serve our audiences the best we can, please do not get in touch with your point of sale if you have booked for performances after 31 May. Please be reassured that if we have to cancel future performances you will be directly contacted by your theatre or ticket provider. Our producers continue to plan for all eventualities dependent on the individual needs of their shows and we will provide further updates on specific shows as and when they become available.

We look forward to welcoming you back into our theatres as soon as we are allowed to resume performances. In the meantime stay safe and healthy.
